Caspar David Friedrich inspired my writing. He was a romantic painter from the 1800s. He aligned Nature with God. He saw the beauty in it. I felt connected to his paintings after doing tons of research for potential meet cute spots. My characters had to meet somewhere magical, yet still in a modern place. A museum is a perfect fit for that. It’s a time machine into a world that existed before us. What stood out the most from all the other painters was that Friedrich’s paintings held the meaning of life in it. I glanced at a few of them and felt content, inspired and filled with purpose. It reminds us that there is something other than ourselves in this world, and that is the way to truly enjoy this crazy experience we call life.
There is so much more life I still have to experience that it feels surreal that existing is normal.
