Week 3: Series of mini poems

Monday: Escape

Reality is unbearable. It’s all-consuming. It takes everything I have to offer, and when that’s not enough, it peels off pieces of my soul.

An unbeatable monster. I have no hope of escaping.

Tuesday: Repulsive

I feel the strain every day. The prolonging of wanting it to end because I hate it. Completing each soul-suppressing task day in and day out. As if that is the purpose of life. As if it is my purpose.

I hate it. I hate it! I HATE it!

I am angry at this mediocre life. It is repulsive.

Wednesday: Realization

Awareness drives one crazy. Once you become aware, it’s hard to continue the same repetitive pattern. The fear of failure lingers like a bag of old cheese. I am afraid to disappoint myself.

In my experience, one has two options: 1) Give into the mediocrity of capitalist life, or 2) create a fulfilling life.

Thursday: Acceptance

I feel the heaviness of the week push against my wings. The weight of a distinct, constant pain. My legs grow tired.

But I choose to carry that weight and pain. I choose to suffer for myself. I choose to do it for me.

Friday: Made it!

My week is over. The mediocrity of it as well. Yet it continues in the future. I have to change.

I will change.

There is no way this draining life will fix itself if one is not brave enough to fix it.

I am brave. I am strong. Strong enough to change my life for the better.
